SUMMARY:5th Annual Acing the GI Board Exam: The Ultimate Crunch-Time Course
DESCRIPTION:The course will follow the blueprint developed by ABIM. Each content category – esophagus\, stomach/duodenum\, liver\, biliary tract\, pancreas\, small intestine and colon – will explore anatomy\, development\, function/physiology; symptoms/clinical presentation; and the diseases and disorders in each. In collaboration with the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG)\, participants will have the option of earning 10 MOC points with successful completion of the ACG’s Self-Assessment modules. A distinguishing feature of this conference is the fact that the course content is delivered over the course of only a day and half. The course directors for this conference recognized that long and detailed discussions that are not directly relevant to board and re-certification exams should be eliminated. Conversely\, many board review manuals provide lists and bullet points that lack sufficient background and context. To address the needs of busy gastroenterologists\, this conference will present high-yield information in the most rational\, relevant\, and contextually appropriate format. This is a time-tested approach that had led to wide dissemination and success of the speakers’ own textbook series\, which will serve as a blueprint for this new educational offering. \nThis course also serves as an intense review of gastroenterology and hepatology to enhance the clinical practice of all GI providers. \n12.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ – maximum

SUMMARY:Advanced Provider Wellness: Resiliency For Dentists And Allied Health Professionals
DESCRIPTION:The Advanced Provider Wellness (APW) course will provide training in evidenced-based\, high-yield mind/body techniques that have been documented to rapidly reduce stress and burnout and build resiliency and wellness. The APW curriculum addresses the 4 recognized drivers of health provider burnout/resilience. Mind/body techniques include breath-based practices (SKY Breathing Meditation\, Sudarshan Kriya) and an effortless meditation—Effective Deep Meditation (EDM)—technique that calm and renew the hyper-stimulated nervous system which dentists and other health providers often experience. Additional training will provide life skills in use of yoga based breathing techniques\, mindfulness principles to stress management\, ways to relieve daily fatigue and a yoga methodology for sleep support. Narrative medicine with the power of story telling is included. Peer support and connection will be delivered through interactive processes and group discussion. Participants receive an understanding of the psycho-biology behind mind/body practices and the research on the causes and risks of burnout. At course completion participants will be proficient in a setting of mind/body technologies to practice on their own. \n16 CE Credits
