American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Suturing STAR Certificate Program
September 7, 2019 - September 8, 2019
The Suturing STAR Certificate Program will provide standardized, evidence-based education, training and assessment in suturing through a unique blend of self-study, didactic, and intensive, standardized hands-on training taught by nationally-known experts in the field. This course is designed to specifically teach standardized knowledge and motor skills in the endoscopic suturing. First half-day will be devoted to detailed case-based video sessions and the following half-day – to intensive, standardized, hands-on training preparing participants for the skills assessment (3 participants per station). On the final day, participants will complete a one-on-one skills assessment as well as a post-test, and will be provided feedback from their performance at the completion of the course. Participants are invited to bring one nurse or technician to train alongside them for no additional fee.
This program is the only opportunity to become familiar with endoscopic suturing using state-of-the-art data and techniques shared by faculty in dedicated, small group, hands-on experience.
Immediately following the live components, all participants will complete a post-test, as well as a one-on-one assessment of a standardized checklist of skills. The Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who meet the passing standard for both post-test and the assessment components.
